Reading Assignments – DUE ON THE DAY THEY ARE ASSIGNED FOR
Reading is an essential part of the course. Readings will include the textbook, documents, articles,
and other primary sources. Although some of the information will be reviewed in class,
there is no possible way to cover it all in class. These readings will make the difference
between success and failure in the course.
Questions
Many of the readings will have questions that are assigned with them. Every question should be
attempted and answered in complete sentences. Use specifics and examples in your answers
to illustrate your mastery of a concept and practice historical analysis.
Reading Quizzes
Reading quizzes will be given on a sporadic basis to verify that you are keeping up with the reading.
These are easy grades to earn and are meant to check your understanding. Actively Reading
is the key. i.e. jot down notes, write questions in your notes, use post-its and sticky notes.
