Introduction
Defining and Finding “Fact and Opinion” through
“Day Care Program”
1. Learning Objective
At the end of the course sudents are able to recognize and differentiate between
fact and opinion, recognize word part, reduced forms of sub-clauses and compose
a piece of writing using Comparison-Contrast.
2. Competence
1. Students are able to recognize and differentiate between statements of fact and
astatements of opinion in their reading.
2. Students are able to recognize some common Word Parts.
3. Students are able to recognize the reduced forms of Adjective clauses and Adverb
Clauses.
4. Studets are able to compose a piece of writing using Comparison-Contrast
3. Teaching and Learning Method
In this course students are given skills in the English language for reading,
vocabulary, grammar and writing. In the reading skill, students are given a theory
and practise for fact and opinion so they can differentiate between fact and
opinion. In vocabulary practice, students are asked to complete and do the
exercises using Word Parts. For grammar exercises, students can learn and
practice the Reduced Forms of Adjective Clauses and Adverb Clauses . and for
writing, students will practice to compose a piece of writing using ComparisonContrast pattern. At the end of the course students are hoped and able to do the
exercises and upload these for “Share ITS”.

The outline of the material consists of:
A. Skill on reading for Fact and Opinion (day-care program)
B. Vocabulary: Word Part
C. Grammar: The Reduced Forms of Adjective Clauses and Adverb Clauses
D. Writing: write a paragraph using Comparison-Contrast
