Upcoming Respect Life Meeting dates:
November 12

The Respect Life Committee met at St Bonaventure Church after 8:45 am Mass.
Denise opened and closed with prayer.
Funding Committee: Per Tom M we have approximately $250 left in account.
Also discussed expected invoice for the helium used to blow up the balloons. (Shirley will report on that next month.)
Infant Clothing Drive:
Bernie reported on the Infant Clothing Drive for Robbinsdale Women’s Clinic.
The committee received a Thank You note from the clinic.
Bernie said they also collected boxes of used clothing for Birthright and Life Care Center.
Jane Blom reported she used the new “Business Cards” to collect infant clothing at garage sales.
Jane volunteered to pick up and store Infant/Children’s (any age) clothing. Just call her.
Ann Haefner volunteered to organize an Infant / Kindergarten age children’s winter clothing drive the weekend before
Thanksgiving. This is to include “clean, gently used” coats, hats, mittens and blankets.
Fall Festival Booth:
Shirley will report on this next month but Julie Leon did report on several “incidents” that happened in the hour she was
in the booth:
An older woman admitted that she had an abortion years ago. Julie gave her information on Rachel’s Vineyard retreats
and encouraged her to go.
Another woman from St Michaels Lutheran Church who had a still-birth in the past and now was trying to start a
Pregnancy Loss support group at her church.
A teenage girl said a friend of hers was pregnant and trying to make the decision to either put her child up for adoption
or to bring up the baby. Julie gave her info and encouraged her to talk to a counselor at a Crisis Pregnancy Center to
help her make that decision.
Respect Life 5K walk/run T-Shirts sales: Mary Koepke emailed a report to everyone.
October: Respect Life Month:
40 days for Life: Elaine will put article in bulletin asking people to go to Regions in St Paul for 40 days for Life.
Other:
Tom and Marilyn attended the dedication of the new Ultra-Sound machine for the North Side Life Care Centers. GE
cut the price from $70,000 to $35,000 and the Knights of Columbus donated the money for it.
Pro Life Monthly meeting at the Bloomington Knights of Columbus is Thursday October 20 the Director of the North
Side Life Care Center is the speaker. Everyone is welcome.
Marriage Amendment (November, 2012): Need to check with Fr Richard to see how the parish is going to handle this.
Possibly coordinate with Vocations committee.
Julie Leon reported on tele-med chemical abortions going on in Rochester.
Respect Life Sign: need to find a home to store the sign for the Winter
Tom Mantel reported that the Unplanned book is available in the library.
Pat Kane reported that Kally Yanta (sp?) is on the Relevant Radio (AM1330) every Sat morning at 11:30 am.
