To store minerals Cartilage – A tough tissue that covers the ends of bones and allows flexibility between bones. Tendons – A tough tissue that connects muscles to bones Ligaments – A tough tissue that connects bones to bones Marrow – The soft tissue in the middle of bones that creates blood cells and stores minerals. Number of bones in a human – 206 Longest bone in human – femur (thigh bone) Two nutrients that muscles need to work: Oxygen and Sugar Function of Blinking: Protection and keeping the eye clean and moist. Mostly involuntary, but can also be voluntary.
