Spelling Sentences Rubric
When spelling sentences are assigned for spelling practice, the following things need to
be included in each sentence.
 Make sure that you use each of YOUR words. You do not have to use all the
words on the list, only those you need to practice for Friday’s test.
 Each word will need its own sentence (if you have 5 words, then you should have
5 sentences. If you have 8 words, then you should have 8 sentences, etc.)
 Write neatly and follow the guidelines listed below.
Please include the following things in order to get full credit for each sentence.







1 point – Make sure your sentence has a capital letter at the beginning.
1 point – Make sure your sentence has an end mark at the end.
1 point – Make sure that you are using the word correctly in the sentence.
1 point – Make sure the sentence makes sense. Proof read to be sure.
1 point – Make sure your spelling word is spelled correctly.
1 point – Please underline the spelling word.
1 point – You must have at least 8 words in your sentence.
Each sentence will be worth seven points
