Symptoms consistent with an upper respiratory infection. Advised on typical
duration of symptoms, rest and plenty of fluids. Advised on appropriate doses of
ibuprofen and/or paracetamol.

Requesting vasectomy. Advised should be regarded as permanent; that although
reversibility is possible, the chances of effective reversal are very variable and not
available on the NHS. Advised on the procedure, possible complications, duration
of discomfort and the need for two semen samples 3 to 6 weeks apart after
vasectomy to confirm it has been effective. Advised of 1:2000-4000 risk of
spontaneous late reversal, and of need to use alternative contraception until
confirmation given from semen samples. Referred to vasectomy clinic.
