Application: Modeling Human Memory
Students participating in a psychological experiment attended several lectures on a subject. Every month for a
year after that, the students were tested to see how much of the material they remembered. The average scores
for the group were given by the human memory model:
f(t) = 75 – 6 ln (t + 1)
for 0  t  12 where t is time in months
a.) What was the average score on the original exam (t = 0)?
b.) After six months, what was the average score?
c.) After ten months, what was the average score?
d.) Draw the graph of f(t).









