Eukaryotic Cells Observations Sheet and KEY
Focus your microscope clearly. For each kind of cell, draw your observations of several individual
cells at low power and high power. Write the power level for each drawing next to “Low” and
“High.”Label your cells on the right side of the drawings.

Questions
Answer the following questions based on your observations under the microscope.
1. How are animal cells similar to plant cells?
Both animal and plant cells have cell membranes, a nucleus, and other organelles such as the
vacuole.
2. How are animal cells different from plant cells?
Plant cells have chloroplasts, cell walls, and they have larger vacuoles than animal cells.
3. How are eukaryotic cells different from prokaryotic cells?
Eukaryotic cells have the genetic material inside a nucleus, and they have membrane-bound
organelles.
