Translate the following text into German
Dear Dad,
I don't think it's good that you always tell me what I should do. You say that I don't help
enough in the house but Tim never does anything because he’s a boy.
When I watch TV you say it's bad for my eyes. But at school we often talk about lots of
programmes, even with our teachers. I should spend all my free time on my homework but
there are things in life that are more important to me.
And then the same old problem when l go out. I have to be back at ten every evening. Do
you really think that ‘dangerous’ things only happen after ten o'clock? Last Saturday when
I came home at ten thirty you told me I could not go out for a week. But I’m not a child
anymore, I am 17.
In your last letter you wrote that I should clean my room regularly. But it's my room and I
must live in it.
You always tell me that I must go to university. But I want to become a secretary. If I earn
my own money, mother will have the chance to give up her part-time job.
I still need Mother and you very much but I don’t think that I'm too young to look after
myself. It’s my life and I’m old enough to know how to live it.

Read the following text and answer the questions
Woman saves boy's arms
Mrs Anna Sandle was the only person who helped after a terrible accident in the centre of
Nottingham yesterday morning. Her help saved a young motorbiker's arms.
Richard Hamilton, a sixteen-year-old student, had an accident with his motorbike when a
car on a busy road stopped suddenly. Richard could not stop any more and fell through a
window of that car with his arms in a way that he was in great danger. While other persons
only stopped and watched Mrs Candle helped the young man. The ambulance arrived
fifteen minutes later because there was much traffic in the morning rush hour.
Now Richard is in the hospital where Anna Sandle works. Chief Inspector Dole of the
Nottingham police again criticized young motorbikers, 'Mr Hamilton is still learning'. He
has had no real training. We must change that. Young motorbikers can ride bikes up to
125 cc for two years without any training. Last year there were forty-five bad accidents
with motorbikers on Nottingham's roads.
We agree with Chief Inspector Dole. Young motorbikers must have a good training and
take a test before riding on public roads where they are a danger to themselves and to all
other persons.
