Worked as Programme Manager for Save the Children, UK for Chennai team and earlier worked for Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Pondicherry and Karaikkal districts and Chennai team in their Tsunami Response Programme. Coordinated projects in seven sectors including HIV/AIDS, Education, Shelter, Livelihoods, Child Protection, ECD and Child Protection in the Cuddalore field office. The project came to an end due to transition to Save the Children India as per the funding arrangements. [Jan. 2006 to March. 2008] 2. Kinder Not Hilfe, Germany [April 2005 to Dec.2005] KNH is working in developing countries and one of the biggest sponsorship agencies in Germany. KNH is funding various NGOs for more than 20 years in India. It has 14 partners working for Tsunami relief in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh with more than Rs.500 million committed towards rehabilitation. Main responsibility for me was to monitor and assist the partners in managing relief and livelihood restoration activities in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Develop effective and efficient managers through carefully planned capacity building programmes. Motivate highly committed cadre of people working in such projects. 3. Catalyst Management Services Limited [April. 2004 to March 2005] Consulting and research in micro credit, enterprises, marketing, monitoring and evaluation. Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi, India [Mar 98 till March.2004] Worked as ADVISOR for its Livestock Development Project in Tamil Nadu, India, under its economic development programs, mainly to coordinate 36 NGOs in five districts to work closely with the project and GoTN staff. The objective of the project is to improve general welfare of the rural poor through increased sales of animal products and through adoption of improved animal husbandry and fodder development. The State Government of Tamil Nadu through its field teams implemented the project. The project covers about 3, 00,000 families spread over five backward districts. Resume of P. Field Office Supported by PLAN International, implementation by Association for Sarva Seva Farms (ASSEFA) [Nov 86 to Feb 98] ASSEFA is working in more than 3,650 villages across 61 blocks in 6 states in India. I served as Project/Managing Director for its three program areas and women’s dairy federation; and Programme Executive in overall charge of implementing rural development programs – supported by PLAN International (a child focused international non-governmental organization) The objective of the project was to improve quality of life of rural poor through economic, social development and building self-reliant and self-managed communities. The project is implemented by the ASSEFA through its field teams, funded by Government and international funding agencies. The project covered about 85,000 families spread over five backward districts. It is a multi-program development funding organization. The overall goal of development funding is poverty reduction. Major focus areas are economic development, environment, women development, and promoting self-management.
