Pacific Regional Forest Inventory Facility
The setting up of the Regional Forest Inventory Facility (RFIF) had been a long-time vision of the Sustainable
Resource Management Program (SRMP) of the Land Resource Division (LRD) at the Secretariat of the Pacific
Community (SPC). Responding to country request to assist in implementing a sound forest management system and
strengthened capacity of local foresters, discussions on building a forest inventory facility that would support this
request went underway.
