Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit
health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate
and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the
historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community
landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second
largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market
and residential units.
Responsibilities




Abstraction of clinical, staging, and treatment information on Oncology patients in
accordance with established standards of the Commission on Cancer in Minnesota
Cancer Surveillance System
Obtain information for long-term follow-up of oncology patients
Obtain information on cases presented at cancer treatment planning conferences
Assist with other duties of the cancer registry department as assigned
Education


Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible (formal education program in
Cancer Registry Management)
Health Information Technician helpful but not required, or 5 years of related work
experience
Qualifications
Experience:

Experience with medical record analysis

Cancer Registry / Oncology Data experience preferred
Licensure / Certification:

Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible
Skills:







Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-O coding, and AJCC staging
Proficient use of Microsoft Office
Computer data entry skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Analytic skills
Goal oriented
Prioritization skills
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule





Full time: 40 hours / week
Day Shift: 8am - 4:30pm
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
No weekends
Non Contract
