PROJECTS
Linux Help System
Main objective of this tool is to answer the user given queries, by
matching them with the appropriate “Man Pages”, and help the novice
linux users in getting familiar with the commands. This is similar to
Microsoft office-assistant. Information retrieval techniques like “creating
index files”, “Term frequency inverse document frequency (TFIDF)” are
used.
Information Retrieval from Resumes
This tool helps in filtering the applicants based on the criteria specified
by the user.
Knowledge representation of the “blocks world” actions using
“conceptual graphs”
“Blocks world” consists of blocks like cubes, cones, rectangular boxes
etc. Initially all the positions of the blocks are recorded and presented
pictorially. A tool was made where, given a command like “Move the red
block on the blue cylinder to the top of yellow cube” will pictorially
show the changed positions of the blocks. “Conceptual graphs” are used
to represent the actions (verbs). This project was done as part of the
Natural Language Processing course.
Speaker Verification based on Imposter Calculation using Artificial
Neural Networks:
This project aims at verifying the identity of the speaker using his speech
samples. Artificial Neural Networks have been used to train the system.
Initially, the system is trained with 5 minute speech samples of the all the
users. When a user claims his identity, a new 1 minute speech sample is
recorded and tested with the to validate the identity.
Recommendation Systems – “Exploring the effects of Transitive
Similarities on the performance of Item Based Collaborative
Filtering”
Recommendation Systems recommend products to users based on their
past buying patterns. I am working on the aspect of improving the
performance of Item Based Collaborative Filtering to make effective
rating predictions to the users. My aim is to reduce the Mean Absolute
Error (MAE) in prediction ratings.
Library Automation
Aim of the project is to develop software which would automate the
functioning of a library over a network, be it Internet or Intranet. The
system provides most of the basic functionalities like managing book
issues, returns and reservations etc.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
I believe in developing myself into a well-rounded individual and take
great pleasure in participating in extracurricular activities. I have
represented my school in inter-school quiz competitions. I am also an
active participant in literary competitions. I was also the Class
Representative of my undergraduate class at college.
