Sample Body Paragraphs Research question: Why would someone need knee surgery? There are various reasons as to why knee replacement surgery would be needed. A very common cause for this procedure is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is caused by the breakdown of the knee joint. Another cause of knee pain is rheumatoid arthritis. “Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the body’s own tissues (Clayman 870). This disorder causes severe pain and limited motion. A final reason one might opt for surgery is that he or she had a former knee injury which led to pain and reduced mobility or movement. Because of this negatively impacted lifestyle, people may have no option but to undergo knee replacement surgery. Research question: How can fast food affect your health? Fast food is extremely unhealthy and can cause multiple diseases. For example, all of the items from a fast food restaurant are highly processed with additives and a variety of pesticides, substances used for destroying other organisms. Companies make the food with many processed ingredients to give it shelf life, which leads to very low nutritional value. In addition to having virtually no nutrition, fast food is high in calories, sugar, and sodium. A typical fast food hamburger has 540 calories and 1,040 grams of sodium (FDA). Not only is the food dangerous, but the packaging is too. The wrappers are coated with perfluoroalkyl, a chemical that is toxic to humans. Long exposure to this additive can lead to cancer and tumors. Moreover, fast food “…can contribute to atherosclerosis, another term for clogged arteries which can increase the risk of heart attacks” (Diseases You Can Get From Fast Food). In summary, food fast is deadly and lacks valuable nutrients. Research question: What make the elephant and the otter unique in their physical traits? An average male African Elephant, being significantly larger than a sea otter, weighs 12,000 pounds. The average female African Elephant weighs 8,000 to 11,000 pounds. The Southern Sea Otter has dark brown fur, though it gets lighter on the stomach area. The African Elephant is a similar color, but the color also entails a touch of gray. The African Elephant can grow to be 11 feet tall, but on average is 8-12 feet for males and females. Clearly, the Southern Sea Otter and the African Elephant have different appearances and builds.
