The Age of Earth
The general accepted age of earth and the solar system is about 4.55 billion
years with plus and minus of 1%. Even though many evidences prove this theory,
the truth about the age still lacks better proof since many rocks or materials on
Earth has been gradually or completely destroyed.

Today the oldest rocks found today are 3.8 to 3.9 billion years ago. The better
evidence of rocks found today are the ones, dated at least 3.5 billion years, in
North America, Greenland, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

The lower limit of Earth’s age, based on defining ages of rocks on this planet, is
generalized as 4.55 billion years.

The most direct way of calculating the Earth is by plumbum, the isotopes of lead
(Pb-206, Pb-207, and either Pb-208 or Pb-204).

The amount of Pb-206 and Pb-207 change because these are products of
uranium decay (U-238 decays to Pb-206, and U-235 decays to Pb-207).

The ratios Pb-206/Pb-204 and Pb-207/Pb-204 are put to the chart of rate
calculation. The higher rates of these materials require more time to be changed
their forms.

So far the ages of Earth is calculated by dating rocks, but not all of samples can
be defined actively (such as meteorites, rocks from universe).

Even though the dating of meteorites comes up with the age of Earth as 4.55
billion years, according to Darlymple, 70 out of 100 meteorites has little
analytical errors.

The dating method of Earth by defining ages of meteorites is called the
Radiometric Dating.

The other theories of dating the earth include the Continent Drift (separating
and scattering lands around the world), the Big Bang (huge explosion in universe
that randomly creates the solar system and other planets), and the Worldwide
Flood (layers of rocks with remaining materials of ancient organisms)

The dating method is the comparison between uranium (mother element) and
lead (daughter element) through half-life. The time spent in decaying uranium
into a lead is the same with the time spent in decaying a planet into today’s
earth.

We got to realize that the information and the methods given for dating the age
of Earth are products of misunderstanding!

In order to make sense of the question “How did we get here?” we, by very
limited ability of understanding, only can tell that the earth has to be very old.

The creation must be a SLOW CREATION if we believe in evolution; the way
people define the earth as extremely old is the same with that people define the
universe.

Why the radiometric dating method works reliably? Its reliability stays because:
1.
The rate of decaying remains the same and constant even through the past.
2.
The original amount of the mother and the daughter elements has been
determined.
3.
The sample has remained in a closed system.

Furthermore, the assumption about guessing the ratio of uranium/lead works.
The scientists find the meteorites including various kinds of lead but no uranium,
and they assume this ratio is the same with ancient materials existed on the
earth when created. There have been radiogenic and non-radiogenic leads in
those common leads, but none contains uranium.

The radiometric dating will turn questionable by two assumptions: leaching and
heat contamination. The leaching happens when a rock sample (lead) is below
the water table, the uranium cannot get into the rock. If so, this fact explains
why none of uranium exist in meteorite. The other doubt is that the heat
contamination is involved in radiometric process, which is the volcano eruption.
The dating years between the last and the newest eruption of any volcano varies,
and certainly the radiometric dating drowns not fully reliable by using dating
years of volcano eruptions.
