Week 4
Expectations:
Demonstrate an understanding of work-related employability skills
Employability Skills. These are the skills that employers are looking for in their employees.
Answer the following questions about a few employability skills:
(a) Why is punctuality important at your workplace?
(b) List 3 or 4 jobs you do at your workplace that require teamwork.
(c) Discuss an example of 1 time during Co-op when you had to use communication skills
(written or oral) above and beyond normal conversation (ie – with a co-worker, client, etc.)
(d) Adaptability is a necessary skill to have. Unexpected changes happen regularly in
workplaces. What have you done at co-op to demonstrate this adaptability?
(e) Initiative: What does it mean to “take initiative”? How have you or could you
demonstrate initiative on the job?
