This would be a bad mutation, as it would result in a loss of a sulfur atom (and so,
potential disulfide bond) with the loss of the cysteine. Lysine, a basic amino acid, is much
longer than the original cysteine as well, and as you can see in the image this would
create a great deal more steric hindrance.
