George Washington George Washington served as the President of the United States of America from April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. He is well known for the many positive actions he contributed to America. He was well recognized as the commander-inchief who established civilian officials, rather than military officers randomly selected. This idea of his helped him tremendously as he maintained respect from over ninety percent of his people. Washington is also well known for his rusty battlefield tactician skills on the battlefield against the British during the revolution. He lost more battles than winning. He created some operations to sophisticated for his fellow rooky American soldiers which contributed to his losses. Aside from this, he was still able to maintain people’s loyalty towards him. After the American Revolution Washington made an attempt to retire to Mount Vernon, however, this didn’t last long. He was influenced to attend the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia during the summer of 1787. At the conference he was elected president of the convention by chance. He did not participate in many the debates; he was merely able to maintain collegiality and kept the delegates at their labors. Over Washington’s two terms of presidency, he was one of the most successful presidents that ever served for the United States of America. He is one of the finding fathers of the Constitution of America (1787). In my opinion, after reviewing the events that occurred during the time of his well demonstrated leadership, and presidency; I believe that George Washington deserved to be recognized on the stamp I created. I decided to place the American Constitution on his left hand side and the American flag as a symbol of patriotism that he had for the country he fought so hard to keep.
