Fold long strips of paper
to make a concertina.
Write your spelling words
on the strip. Cut the strip
at the end of each word.
Write your words in
alphabetical order.
Classify your words according to
syllables.

Copy out your spelling
words and group them into
long or short vowels.
Example: feet – long
bed- short
Write each spelling
word with a pen, pencil
or crayon. Trace over
the word at least 3
times. Use a different
colour each time. Do
this for each of your
words.
Write each word with a thick
crayon or felt tip pen. Cut out the
letters. Arrange them in the
correct order to spell each word.
Paste them on a piece of paper.
