English 9 and World History Cross-Curricular Project Due: August 31st (Wednesday) FRENCH REVOLUTION STORYBOOK PROJECT 100 points (World History Class) 60 points (English Class) 2 Lab Days – 8/17 and 8/26 (Ms. Campbell) 1. This project requires you to create a storybook on the major events of the French Revolution. You should include information from Chapter 6, your notes, AND outside sources (correctly cited using MLA format). Make sure your information is clear and to the point. 2. Project Requirements: a) Appealing front cover with an appropriate title. Your storybook should be placed in a folder or bound in some way. (I will show you examples in class.) b) Detailed Information on each of the following topics. You may include extra information but the following topics are required. An Introduction Conditions in France in the late 1780s (Long and Short-Term Causes of the Revolution) The Meeting of the Estates General The Tennis Court Oath The Storming of the Bastille Declaration of the Rights to Man The Monarchy is Abolished and Execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette Robespierre and the Reign of Terror Rise and Fall of Napoleon A conclusion MLA Works Cited Page c) Each section must include An illustration of the event (site your source if you use pictures from the internet) Thought or voice bubbles coming from characters in the illustration (at least 5) Hint --- Primary Sources make excellent thought/speech bubbles Academic and Content Vocabulary d) Additional touches to make the storybook artistic and visually appealing: use of colors, page numbers, layout, pop-ups, additional visuals or graphics… Grading Info On Back English 9 and World History Cross-Curricular Project 3.
