On joint motion of all Councilmembers present, the following resolution was
offered:
RESOLUTION NO. _______
A resolution authorizing expenditure for the purchase of
Standard & Poors NetAdvantage web service license to
provide on-line access for a three (3) year period not to
exceed $19,445.00 per year with a three (3) year cap not to
exceed $58,335.00 for the Jefferson Parish Library
Department. (Parishwide)
WHEREAS, Standard & Poors NetAdvantage web service license will provide
access to the customers of the library; and
WHEREAS, Standard & Poors NetAdvantage web service includes S&P’s
company reports; stock & mutual fund reports, rankings, daily pricing histories,
investment articles, and financial literacy tools; and
WHEREAS, Standard & Poors NetAdvantage can be accessed by library
customers at home or at library locations; and
WHEREAS, Standard & Poors has agreed to a cost of $19,445.00 per year for a
three year period not to exceed $58,335 for the three year period; and
WHEREAS, the Library Department has a letter from Standard & Poors stating
that they are the sole source provider for the Standard & Poors NetAdvantage web
service license to provide for the on-line access database.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Jefferson Parish Council of
Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, acting as governing authority of the Library Department of
said Parish:
SECTION 1. That the Purchasing Department is hereby authorized to issue
payment/purchase order/contract to purchase the Standard & Poors NetAdvantage web
service license to provide on-line access in an amount not to exceed $19,445.00 per
year with a three (3) year cap not to exceed $58,335.00.
SECTION 2. That this resolution be in effect for a three (3) year period with a
cap not to exceed $58,335.00.
SECTION 3. That the cost for this expenditure will be charged to the Library
Department Subscription – On-Line Services Account Number 21790-2451-029-7518.
SECTION 4. That the Council Chairman or in his absence the Vice-Chairman, is
authorized to sign any and all documents required to carry out the provisions of this
resolution.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as
follows:
