Daoism (dao—way or path) An intuitive philosophy that emphasizes individualism, non-conformity and a return to nature
Confucianism is an ethical system based on correct relationships between people. Together with human-heartedness (morality and
empathy) and justice, Confucius emphasized li or etiquette.
Buddhism teaches compassion for all living things –helping every being to achieve enlightenment and escape samsara or cycle of
birth and death
Neo Confucianism teaches that the universe consists or two interacting forces: li (principles or ideas) and qi (matter). Our task as
humans is to rid our qi of impurities so that our li may realize its oneness with the Great Ultimate.
