Depression Depression is a mood disorder that causes you to feel sad or hopeless for a long period of time. It is much more than just having “the blues” for an afternoon or having a day that just isn’t your day. Depression can have serious effects on your enjoyment of life, your schoolwork, your health, and the people you care about. Depression may be triggered by stress, other illnesses, certain drugs or medications, or inherited traits – those parts of our personality that we have at birth. HIV/AIDS STD Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system by destroying infectionfighting T cells, which are your body’s third line of defense.
