From the Eurostat webpage download the data concerning factors of growth of the EU28 countries, referring to: o Human capital (education, labour force) o Technology (e.g. ICT) o R&D a) Prepare figures (e.g. bar chart showing R&D as % of GDP in various EU28 countries in the latest year). Comment on the differences in the aforementioned factors of growth across EU countries. b) You can also use inbuilt Eurostat tool for making graphs/figures c) Make a scatter plot that shows the relationships between the analyzed factors and the income per capita – comment d) Make a scatter plot that shows the relationships between the above factors and the growth rate of income per capita over the analyzed period of time – comment 2. Draw particular attention to the European countries versus other parts of the world. Select one European country and analyze its path of development (take into account income per capita and alternative other indicators) in time in comparison with a selected country in other part of the world 3. The size of government and economic growth Make a scatter plot that shows the relationship between the size of the governments for the EU countries (measured as total general government expenditure as % of GDP – download the data from the Eurostat ) and the growth rate of the GDP per capita.
