Summary
Odysseus and Penelope’s story is about Odysseus’ journey and
Penelope’s life when Odysseus is gone. Odysseus first sets off to battle
in Troy and the journey there and including the fight lasted 10 years.
The gods that once favored him (Athena mostly) went against him
when they burned down Troy. Poseidon destroyed the ships, but
Odysseus didn’t die. Odysseus had to wander for 10 years lost going to
many different journeys and trying to go home. The gods felt pity for
Odysseus and when Poseidon was gone, the gods agreed to let Athena
help him go home (Poseidon was still mad). Odysseus finally got home
and was disguised as a beggar. He meets his son, Telemachus, and
planned on what to do with the suitors in his house. During all of this,
Penelope had to suffer from thinking that Odysseus might be dead and
the suitors who said that they wouldn’t leave her house unless she
picked one of them to remarry. She tried to lie but she got caught.
She made a challenge telling the suitors that whoever could use
Odysseus’ bow and shot an arrow though 12 rings, she would marry.
She went to her room with her maids after that. This helped Odysseus’
plan and Odysseus was able to shot through the 12 rings and stared
killing the suitors with Telemachus. Penelope was told that Odysseus
came back but she didn’t believe it and when to see. Odysseus turned
back to his normal self and they all were happy.

Jason and Medea Group
Summary
This guy named Jason, the king's son and rightful heir to the throne, came to take the
throne from his evil cousin, Pelias. He meets Pelias and says to him: "I'm your cousin,
Jason. We need to rule Greece without violence. You can keep all your cool stuff, but
give me the throne and the scepter, so we don't fight over them." Pelias replied: "Okay,
but first, you need to get this 'Golden Fleece,' and then I'll give you the throne," because
he didn't expect Jason to return alive. So Jason invites a whole bunch of people to come
along, like Hercules, and a whole bunch of other people. The goddess Hera planned to
help them. They set sail on the Argo.
Their first stop was a dangerous island of all women. Hercules and another guy get stuck
on the island and forget all about the Golden Fleece, so they leave without them. After a
while, they finally make it to the place with the Golden Fleece. Hera asked Aphrodite for
help, and she made the daughter of the king of the city fall in love with Jason. Her name
was Medea, and she knew how to do magic. Aphrodite went to Cupid and got him to do
what she asked. Jason and the Argonauts go to the king to ask for the fleece. Cupid
makes Medea fall in love with Jason, and she runs off.
Later, Jason asks for the fleece. King Eetes gets really mad, but hides it. He sets up a
bunch of trials Jason must face in order to get the fleece. Medea figures out her father's
plan. Jason decides to get Medea's help. He goes to her and she doesn't know what to say,
and she gives him a special ointment that makes the person who rubs it on their body
immune to harm for the day. She tells him what to do about the strange creatures in the
trials. They both fall head-over-heels in love with each other. Jason and his men defeated
the creature, and despite the king's promise, he refused to give them the fleece.
Hera made Medea run to Jason, and she told him that they needed the fleece, and that
there was a serpent guarding the fleece that she could lull to sleep. Jason promises to
marry her, and they went off, and Medea sang the serpent to sleep. They stole the fleece
and ran like mad away from the island, and sailed back. Medea's brother goes after them,
but she kills him. They face more trials while going back. Jason took the Golden Fleece
back to Pelias, who Jason found out had killed his father and mother.
Jason wants revenge, so Medea put Pelias to sleep and had his daughters cut him up.
Then Jason, while Medea suffers from what she did, tells her he never loved her, and that
she was too reckless. Medea kills her and Jason's children in her rage, and then flies away
on a chariot while Jason mourns all his losses.

When Theseus was born his father left and told his mother that when he was strong
enough he should lift a boulder where he left belongings for him and then he should come
and meet him in Athens with the belongings. Theseus grew up with his mom when he
was 16 years old his mom told him about his father who was the king of Athens and the
boulder. Theseus lifted the boulder on his first try and then went on a journey to Athens
to meet his father. He recognized him cause he brought the belongings from the boulder.
His father then told him about the minotaur who was a monster that was part bull and
lived on an island and ate children. Theseus offered to be a victim. When he arrived at
Crete, Ariadne the king's daughter fell in love with him and asked Daedalus, creator of
the labyrinth, to tell her how to escape the maze. Daedalus told her this information and
she then told Theseus. Theseus defeated the Minotaur using this information.
Theseus, Aridane, and the other victims left Crete. We are not sure which story is true but
it is said that Theseus left Ariadne on the Island of Naxos. On his way into Athens,
Theseus forgot to change the black sails to white sails, like he promised his father. Seeing
this Theseus father killed himself because he thought that Theseus was dead. Thseus then

Orpheus & Eurydice
Summary
Orpheus was an amazing musician who sang and played the lyre. He fell in love with
Eurydice, who had fallen for him and his talent. They loved each other unconditionally,
and got married. After the marriage, Eurydice was walking in the meadow with her
bridesmaids. Suddenly a viper came along and stung her. The venom instantly killed her.
Orpheus approached as Eurydice was being taken away to the Underworld. He tried to go
after her, knowing there was no way he would be able to chase after her. But he would
not give up on trying to get his love back. So Orpheus journeyed to the Underworld,
hoping to get the god of the Underworld, Hades, to give Eurydice back to him.
He finally got to the gates to find Cerberus, the three-headed dog standing guard.
Orpheus was not scared, because he knew the the music from his lyre and his beautiful
voice would make Cerberus relax his guard, making it much easier to get through the
gates into the Underworld. As Orpheus played, Hades and his wife Persephone drew
nearer. They found his music beautiful, like everyone else and listened to his song. In his
song, he was singing about getting his lovely Eurydice back. Hades was touched and
decided to give her back to Orpheus. Under one condition, Orpheus could not look back
at Eurydice until they had both reached daylight.
Finally, Orpheus reached daylight and turned around to see that Eurydice had not. He
reached for her but she quickly slipped back into the Underworld. Orpheus tried to enter
the Underworld again, but he was not allowed to. So he miserably wandered around the
forest playing his music. Eventually he was killed.

Summary
While working for King Minos of Crete,Daedalus builds a labyrinth for the Minotaur
created from King Minos' wife and a white bull she "mysteriously" fell in love with.
After a few years though, Theseus, a great hero, hears about how the Minotaur has been
devouring innocent people for food. So,Theseus travels to Crete to defeat this beast, now,
King Minos' daughter, Ariadne, falls in love with Theseus and asks Daedalus to help
Theseus defeat the Minotaur. Daedalus agrees, because she's the king's daughter,so he
helps Theseus by having him tie a string to the entrance of the labyrinth so he can find his
way back.
Once the Minotaur is defeated,Theseus runs off with Ariadne and King Minos is enraged
when he hears this.He blames daedalus for his daughter's departure,so he locks Daedalus
and his son Icarus into the labyrinth. But Daedalus is determined to get out as soon as
possible,so he creates wings out of feathers and wax for both him and his son. Once the
wings are finished,Icarus and Daedalus use them to soar into the air and escape the giant
maze.
While they are in the air,Daedalus warns his son not to fly to low, because the water will
drench his his dry wings, and not high, because the sun will melt the wax on his wings, but
being difficult,Icarus doesn't listen, too caught up in his excitement at being in the sky, so
he flies to hight, the sun melts his wings, and falls into the water below and
drowns.Daedalus looks and looks, but the only thing he finds are his son's wings floating
in the water.
So Daedalus flees to Italy where he tricks King Minos, who's still looking for him,at his
own plan to trick Daedalus.
