The Royal Gene
Hemophilia- Disease of the “Bluebloods”
Queen Victoria of England ruled the United Kingdom from 1837 until 1901. She and her husband had 9
children who married into other royal families around the world. She introduced the mutant gene for hemophilia
into the royal family. Hemophilia is a genetic disorder that makes it hard for a person’s blood to clot. This
means a person with hemophilia will bleed for a lot longer than a normal person when they get hurt. It is a
recessive X-linked disorder.

2. What was Albert’s genotype?

hemophilia.

of hemophilia anywhere in her backgoround??????
