1:21 Jesus will “save his people from their sins”
3:7-11 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is thrown into the fire
3:11 Jesus will burn the chaff with “unquenchable fire”
5:6-7 Those who seek righteousness will find it. Those who are merciful will receive mercy.
5:14-17 Let your light shine.
5:22 ‘you fool’ is in danger of gehanna.
5:29-30 Better to lose body parts than to end up in gehanna.
6:14-15 If you forgive others God will forgive you.
7:1-2 Judgement against you will be in accordance with your own judgement.
7:7-11 God gives good things to any who seek, knocks, searches or asks.
7:17-21 Bad “trees” go to the fire
10:15 More tolerable for Sodom than for the town rejecting the gospel (cf 11:20-24)
10:23 the one who holds out to the end will be saved.
10:28 Fear he who can destroy body and soul in gehanna.
10:32-33 Jesus will deny those who deny him
10:40-42 People will receive a reward according to what they do.
12:33-37 Good trees -> good fruit. Day of judgement your words will be scrutinised.
12:41-42 Ninevah and Queen of Sheba will condemn at the judgement those who refused the truth
13:12-15 Those who have some light and turn to the truth will receive while those who have no light
and reject the truth will lose all.
13:47-50 Evil will burn in fire.
16:17 People will be repaid for what they have done.
18:6-7 Better to die than to destroy the faith of a child.
18:8-9 Better to lose an eye or a limb than to go to eternal fire.
18:10-14 God does not want any child to be lost.
19:22 The young rich prince.
19:29 Those who have suffered loss to follow Jesus will inherit eternal life.
24:45-51 Salvation by nature.

25:28 Blood poured out for “Forgiveness of sins”.
The Kingdom of Heaven
3:2 “is at hand”

4:23 The kingdom being near IS the good news (cf 9:35; 10:7)
5:3 The “poor in spirit” have the KoH
5:10 Those who are persecuted for righteousness sake have KoH.
5:19-20 Righteousness is needed for KoH.
6:33 Strive for the KoG and its righteousness
7:21-23 KoH is for the righteous not believers.
8:11-12 Gentiles will be included in KoH but some Jews will not.
11:11 The least in the KoH is greater than the greatest man born of flesh.
11:12 The KoH suffers violence and the violent try to take it by force.
12:28-29 The casting out of demons by the Spirit indicates the KoG has come. The KoG is the binding
of Satan’s power.
13:24-30, 36-43 The devil sows “weeds” in the lives of men but these will be removed and the
righteous will “shine like the sun in the kingdom of the father.”
13:31-34 The KoH starts off small but grows to provide for the needs of many.
13:33 The KoH in people’s lives impacts the world. (cf 5:13)
13:44-46 Worth / requires everything else in life.
13:47-50 Evil will burn
16:28 Some there will not die before they see JC’s kingdom come (referring to Transfiguration? 17:18)
18:1-4 Unless we become like children we will not enter the KoH.
18:29-35 the KoH is like this: Forgive and you’ll be forgiven.
19:12 People have made themselves Eunuchs for the sake of the KoH.
19:14 The KoH belongs to those like little children.
19:23-24 Hard for a rich person to enter KoH, easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than
rich into KoG.
20:1-15 All God’s workers will receive equally no matter how long they have worked for.
21:28-32 Those in the KoH are those who do the will of the Father.
21:43 The KoG will be given to those with the right “fruits”, not just Jews.
22:1-14 Wedding Feast with both good and bad (vs 10), and one random is thrown into outer darkness.
24:14 “Good news” of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world.
25:1-12 Cannot rely on the good works of others – each is responsible for his own (cf vs 14-30)
26:29 “I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new with you in my
Father’s kingdom.”

5:43-48 God loves all – the sinner and the righteous.
6:22-23 If the body is full of darkness then how great is that darkness!
7:13-14 Wide gate to destruction, many take it. Narrow gate to life, few find it. (We are all sinners and
are “the many” (cf Paul) on the road to destruction but from Christ – one of the “few” like Elijah or
Moses we find life.”
