Theatre Arts I Instructor: Mrs. Beth Leffler, P-5 Contact info: [email protected] Conference hours: Monday& Wednesday 9 am – 10:15 am Tuesday & Thursday 1 pm – 2:15 pm Course Description: Theatre Arts I is an introduction to acting and the history of theatre. Various aspects of technical theatre will also be explored. Evaluation will be made through multiple modes including performance, test, and notebook or materials check. Public performances may be presented during the school year. Class sessions will typically include a warm up activity, various readings, writing activities and performance activities. Materials: Notebook section or folder Course Requirements Students will participate fully in all activities, discussions and performances. Students should monitor their district email accounts and department webpage for communications and materials distribution. o Evaluation: Participation 50% o Notebook/rehearsal performance/quiz 40% o 9 weeks summative performance 10% Students will arrive on time with materials and/or performances prepared. Late written work will not be accepted. Missed performance dates must be rescheduled by the performer at the instructor’s discretion. Instructor Expectations All members of the class will treat each other with dignity and respect. Critiques and comments will be presented in a positive and constructive manner. Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated in keeping with SISD and EPCC policies.
