On motion of Mr. , seconded by Mr. , the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION NO.
A resolution to authorize an agreement with Cox Business Services to provide
a Metro-E100 Mbps Link between the Jefferson Parish Communications Center
located at 910 3rd Street, Gretna, Louisiana to the Remote Backup Center
located at 3300 Metairie Road, Metairie, Louisiana under State Contract
Number 406700 which will allow both voice and data communications between
both sites at a cost not to exceed eight hundred fifty dollars ($850.00) per month
or ten thousand two hundred dollars ($10,200.00) annually.
WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) requires a Metro-E100 Mbps
Link between the Jefferson Parish Communications Center located at 910 3rd Street,
Gretna, Louisiana and the Remote Backup Center located at 3300 Metairie Road,
Metairie which will allow both voice and data communications between the sites; and
WHEREAS, Cox Business Services can provide the internet services at a cost not to
exceed eight hundred fifty dollars ($850.00) per month or ten thousand two hundred
dollars ($10,200.00) annually; and
WHEREAS, Cox Communications provides this service under State Contract
Number 406700; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Jefferson Parish Council of
Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, acting as the governing authority of the 9-1-1
Communications District:
SECTION 1. The contract with Cox Business Services is authorized to provide a
Metro-E100 Mbps Link between the Jefferson Parish Communications District located
at 910 3rd Street, Gretna, Louisiana and the Remote Backup Center located at 3300
Metairie Road, Metairie, Louisiana to provide both voice and data communication
between the sites under State Contract Number 406700;
SECTION 2. That the cost of this service does not exceed eight hundred fifty
dollars ($850.00) per month or ten thousand two hundred dollars ($10,200.00) annually,
to be paid by the Jefferson Parish 9-1-1 Communications District;
SECTION 3.
That the Chairman of the Jefferson Parish Council, or in his
absence the Vice-Chairman, is authorized to sign any and all documents to enforce this
resolution.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as
