This program will cover aspects of 12 Lead analysis such as axis deviation, hypertrophy, bundle branch
block, and M.I. Placement of the 12 leads will be covered. Knowledge of basic dysrhythmias required.
Please note that this class DOES NOT teach you how to take a 12-Lead EKG.

Description: This course is an option for ACLS Update/Renew. The goal of the ACLS EP Course is to
improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory and other (eg, metabolic, toxicologic)
emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines and encouraging critical thinking and decisionmaking strategies. Through instruction and active participation in case-based scenarios, learners enhance
their skills in the differential diagnosis and treatment of prearrest, arrest and postarrest patients. This
course is for seasoned healthcare providers who are proficient in performing BLS and ACLS skills,
reading and interpreting ECGs, and understanding ACLS pharmacology and who regularly lead or
participate in emergency assessment and treatment of prearrest, arrest or postarrest patients. Participant
must have the physical ability to actively and correctly compress on manikins and complete all skills
stations and written testing to successfully complete the course. Each student must have the current

Description: This is an option for update for the individual who is very experienced and competent in
ACLS skills and can demonstrate the following testing stations without review or remediation:
Respiratory Arrest, CPR/AED, Megacode with Rhythms, and written exam. Each student must have the
current textbook for the course.
Considerations for the challenge option:
1. This is for the individual who is very experienced and competent in ACLS skills and can
demonstrate these skills without instruction, review or coaching.
2. You must present your current AHA course completion card before testing. You may not
challenge if your card is expired..
3. If participant is not able to complete the challenge option they must attend the update
course.renewal class.
4. It is STRONGLY advised that the participant who is not able to complete the challenge option
complete the renewal class on the same day as the attempted challenge option.
5. Precourse assessment exam completion is highly recommended and may be found at

Description: This course is designed for the healthcare provider to learn to analyze the
cardiac rhythms. The program is also helpful as a review if you have taken the course
before. The class will include anatomy and physiology of the heart, conduction of the
heart and analysis of sinus, atrial, junctional, heart block and ventricular rhythms.
Emphasis will be placed on the effect of these rhythms on cardiac function and

 You will perform a short skills check / Mega code with a performance checklist to verify competency
