inside each box. Turn this sheet in at the end of each week with evidence of completion.
Dictation Sentences:
Week 1:
1. The light sponge will absorb the water.
2. When the sapling grows, buds will form.
Week 2
1. I want to make sure I have batteries on this stormy night.
2. The property swayed as the ground shook.

2. She gave the boy an ice cream cone as a present.

Playing Card Addition Race Rules
Get a deck of cards.
Next take out the face cards and aces.
Split the remainder of the cards into two piles.
Find a partner.
Give your partner one half of the cards, you keep the other half.
Next each of you quickly needs to place down one card so the number can be seen by
both of you.
Now, your job is to add the numbers on the cards together. The first person to shout
out the correct answer gets to keep those cards and wins that round. Place these cards
to the side. When you have used all of your original pile, stop and count all of the cards
you have won. The person with the most cards wins!
Spelling Activities:
1. Write your spelling words in a list, then rewrite your words in ABC order
2. Write your spelling words using pizza writing

3. Rainbow write your spelling words. Directions: Print each word neatly with a pencil, then rewrite
over the top of the pencil with a colored pencil using a different color. Use a total of five colors
for each word.
4. Write your words three times each
5. Type your spelling words in Microsoft Word and print them out
6. Bubble write your words: First write your spelling words with giant spaces between the letters,
then make a bubble around each letter by tracing around each letter.
7. Write a story using all of your spelling words. Underline the words.
8. Make spelling flashcards and then use them to practice your spelling words.
9. Spelling flowers: Draw a flower petal for each letter in your spelling word. Make a separate
flower for each word. Make a bouquet of all your spelling words.
10. Spooky spelling practice. Write all of your words with shaky printing.
11. Draw your spelling list. Draw a picture to go with each spelling word, and then label the pictures
with your words.
12. Fancy printing – Print all your spelling words using your own type of fancy printing.
13. Chose an activity from Spelling City and have your parents write a note saying which activity you
completed.
