Facilitated mostly urgent care and hospital follow-up visits utilizing a 20/40minute schedule. Focused on history and
physical exam findings to guide the majority of outpatient decision making, utilizing labs, studies, and tests only when
necessary to further limit the differential diagnosis. Worked collaboratively with the outpatient team including medical
assistants, PCPs, LPNs, SW, care coordinator, and practice managers to help best meet the needs of a diverse patient
population.
 Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA July 2011 – present
Inpatient Medical Oncology Physician Assistant (level 2), DFCI Inpatients treated at Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Collaborated with a diverse team of individuals in order to provide expert care to patient’s hospitalized with complications
arising from malignancies and their treatments. Focused on diagnosing, managing, and treating the acute medical event to
best enable the patient to recover towards continue with the overall oncological goals of care. Recognized when it would
be in the patient’s best interest to transition to palliative care services and supported them while facilitating this change of
care. Concentrated on treating solid tumor patients, effectively admitting, rounding on, and discharging patients while also
facilitating family meetings and training new hires as well as student PAs.
 Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, MA, January 2009 – July 2011
Hospitalist Physician Assistant, Internal Medicine Department
Successfully worked with a team of multiple Attendings and consulting specialists to help build a model which included
myself as the first Hospitalist PA at this facility. Proficiently used EMR (CIS) to complete daily rounding progress notes
and discharges on 8-13 adult patients per day with a variety of medical comorbidities on the med-surg, telemetry, and
mental health units. Noted by colleagues for effective communication skills and by local PCPs for outstanding discharge
summaries and patient education. Assisted in creating successful Multidisciplinary Rounds which effectively decreased
length of stay and increased patient satisfaction as well as quality of care.
Per diem Emergency Department Physician Assistant
Worked sporadically in the urgent care clinic of the ED treating pediatric and adult patients with a variety of complaints
ranging from orthopedic injuries, to lacerations, to respiratory illnesses. Performed basic procedures such as suturing,
splinting, and gynecological exams.
 IPC, The Hospitalist Company, Springfield, MA, January 2009 – July 2011
Per Diem Hospitalist Physician Assistant, Internal Medicine Department
As above, also worked (one weekend per month) as a Hospitalist PA, though in addition to rounding and discharges, also
completed admissions for both med-surg patients as well as for mental health unit patients. In this setting, efficiently made
use of paper charts as well as electronic information to communicate with the team.
 Springfield/Enfield Medical Associates, Springfield, MA/Enfield, CT, June 2007 - January 2009
Internal Medicine/Pediatric Outpatient Physician Assistant
Within 1 year improved from seeing app. 6 patients per day to 18 patients per day (20/40 minute time blocks); decreasing
the need for training from supervising physicians to be able to independently manage app. 15 out of 18 patients seen in a
day. Established rapport with many patients who then requested follow-up with me rather than with their PCPs. Focused
on education, prevention, urgent care, while considering the “bigger picture” and ensuring patients were not lost to
follow-up re: their health maintenance visits. Developed patient education hand-outs and trained new medical assistants as
well as newly hired midlevels. Efficiently used the EMR to manage patient health records. Performed complete
physicals, DOT PEs, well-child checks, acute sick visits, mental health visits, paps/pelvics, I&Ds, suturing, placed IVs,
drew labs, administered updrafts, recorded/ordered and interpreted EKGs, labs and spirometry, etc. for both and
underserved diverse population as well as a middle-to-upper class less diverse population. Adapted well to working with
the variety of styles found among 10+ physicians whom I represented when caring for their patients.
 Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield, MA, August 2006 – May 2007
Hospitalist Physician Assistant, Internal Medicine Department
Efficiently multitasked in order to complete admissions, follow-ups, consults, and discharges of an average of 6 patients
per day in the inpatient setting. Focused on patients with diagnoses admitted for observation status (e.g. rule-out ACS),
but also successfully worked with supervising attendings on more complex cases carrying multiple comorbidities.
