River Valley Medical Center 200 North Third Street Dardanelle, AR 72834 479-229-6137 479-229-6161 Fax RVMC is currently taking applications for a MA (Medical Assistant) PRN (Req# 1601) Educational/Experience Requirements: Associates of Applied Science (preferred) Holding credentialing as a certified medical assistant (preferred) Experience as a medical assistant (required Maintain current Basic Life Support Certification. Purpose To assist physician with patient examinations. Administer specified medications orally and by injection. Document all physician orders, test results, referrals, medications, vitals, patient history, current complaints and follow ups. Scope Works with physician and other staff to provide optimal care for patients. Follow compliance guidelines with governing bodies and state and local regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to withstand considerable walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling and stooping on a daily basis. Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity for the accurate reading of computer spreadsheets, gauges, computer screens and reports. Must be able to read and write English. Ability to hear with or without correction. Ability to manipulate small tools and office equipment Ability to spend up to ten percent (10%) of working time outside in temperatures ranging from 25 degrees F to above 100 degrees F. Task involve the occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues.
