On February 7th, the College of Science hosted the annual Co‐op Expo. At the event, over 20 students presented scien fic posters reflec ng Tip for Co-op
on their co‐op experiences to the Northeast‐
ern community. Monet, a Behavioral Neurosci‐
Integration Success ence student, won the compe on for best Match your co‐op student with poster for the presenta on of her role as Re‐

The College of Science is excited to welcome Tina Mello and Jake Walker to the team! Tina Mello will serve as Co‐op Coordinator for the Biology discipline. Tina is an eleven year veteran of the Career Development Center at Northeast‐
ern University and brings a wealth of knowledge in student prepara on for job searches. She is excited to help co‐op students in their profession‐
al development and find the best match for your company! Jake Walker will fulfill the role of Student Services Coordinator for the Biology and Behavioral Neu‐
roscience disciplines. Previous to this posi on, Jake served as Student Services and Data Manag‐
er for the D’Amore McKim School of Business. In this role, Jake helped ease the nerves of first‐ me co‐op students by conduc ng mock interviews and answering their ques ons. Northeastern to build state‐of‐the‐art science and
engineering complex
Northeastern University has broken ground in the construc on of a state‐of‐the‐art interdisciplinary science and engineering research facility on Colum‐
bus Avenue. Scheduled for comple on in fall 2016, the new complex will provide 220,000 sq. . of research and educa on space and is part of the university’s ongoing effort to expand its capacity to engage in path‐breaking research across disci‐
plines. The complex will house wet and dry lab facili es, educa onal laboratories, classroom space, and offices for faculty and graduate students. The six‐
story facility will be designed with open, shared laboratory space and numerous areas meant to promote informal serendipitous discussions and foster interdisciplinary collabora on. Northeastern has increased its annual research funding by more than 100 percent since 2006, and in the 2011–2012 academic year the university received more than $100 million in external re‐
