Disposing of medications in the trash or flushing
them down the toilet is unsafe for the environment
and the public. Help prevent childhood poisonings,
reduce substance abuse and protect the watersafely dispose of unwanted
medications today!

What medications should be disposed of?
• Those that have expired
• Those you no longer need
• Those that have changed color, smell, or taste bad
• Those you can no longer identify
What can be dropped off?
• Expired and unused medications
• Over-the-counter medications
• Medication samples
• Pet medications
• Medicated ointment/lotions/drops
• Unopened Epi-Pens
• Liquid medications
Prior to dropping off medications:
• Leave medications in original bottle
• Place liquid bottles in a ziplock bag
• Place loose pills in a ziplock bag
