Trans-Pacific Partnership: Big opportunities. Great challenges. What’s your move? 26 April 2016 MITI Tower The post Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) economic and trading environment will be a game changer for businesses in Malaysia. Malaysian businesses can expect more competition as well as opportunities as the TPP opens up new markets across the Pacific, covering a population of 800 million and a total Growth Domestic Product (GDP) of USD 27.4 trillion which represents 40% of the global economy. In joining the TPP, the government has made commitments and agreed to undertake certain obligations across a range of policy areas that will cut across industries and have significant implications on your business. Ultimately, both the public and private sector must undergo a period of adjustment to maximise the potential benefits and mitigate potential costs. At this forum you can expect to hear constructive dialogues between the public and private sector on getting Malaysian companies ready for the TPP. As a business you will have a better understanding of the opportunities and potential challenges arising from the TPP and most importantly, what you need to do to ensure that you are prepared for this new environment.
