Connect Maxim Dongle Connect the Ribbon Cable to the VCU108 – Red Stripe towards pin 1 – Insert the “A” end of the USB cable into a PC USB port (do not use a docking station or USB hub port) – Install J12 jumper to inhibit all FPGA rails – Turn on the VCU108 board Page 9 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx . Check Voltage Levels Using the Maxim PowerTool, check that you see the following (voltages inhibited): DS45 LED on the VCU108 will appear red Page 10 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx . Restoring Power Levels Unzip included file: FULL_VCU108_REVA_R1_04132015.zip Open MaximDigitalPower GUI Verify that all 8 power rails are listed in the GUI: – 0x11 – 0x12 – 0x14 – 0x1A – 0x1B – 0x70 – 0x72 – 0x73 Page 11 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx . Maxim PowerTool Expand the Maxim GUI so that you can see the “Load Configuration” button on the GUI Click “Load Configuration” and browse to where you have saved FULL_VCU108_REVA_R1_04132015.xml – load this file Page 12 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx . Maxim PowerTool Once the XML has been programmed in, a GUI prompt will be displayed stating that the controllers must be re-loaded You might need to click the “Search for Devices” button to refresh the controller information Page 13 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx . Maxim PowerTool From the Dashboard tab, click “Store User ALL” button IMPORTANT: Do not power off the board Warning: Rails 0x70, 0x72, 0x73 only allow a maximum of 4 total reprograms! Maxim PowerTool Power off the VCU108 Remove jumper J12 Power on the VCU108 once more to verify If the Dashboard does not refresh automatically: – Click the “Search for Devices” button Verify that all Power Good LEDs in the top right corner of the VCU108 are on Verify that the FPGA power good LED is green Open the Maxim PowerTool GUI to verify the correct voltages on 12V (Input Voltage) and all FPGA rails (Output Voltage) Page 16 © Copyright 2015 Xilinx .
