It uses the digital signal processing (DSP) technology and features high reliability, efficiency, availability, and intelligence. The UPS5000-A provides reliable, economical, intelligent, and convenient solutions. It supplies reliable and high-quality AC power to: Server rooms Small- and medium-sized data centers Telecom and Internet switch rooms of small- and medium-sized enterprises Local area networks (LANs) and communications equipment rooms Equipment rooms of branch offices in sectors such as finance Infrastructures, such as control equipment rooms, wireless systems, houses, and offices 2.2 Highlights High Reliability The auxiliary power supply and fans use redundancy design. If the auxiliary power supply or fans are faulty, the UPS5000-A continues working reliably. High Availability The UPS5000-A can be tower-mounted or mounted on a 19-inch rack. The flexible installation reduces installation space. High Loading Capability The UPS5000-A has an output power factor (PF) of 1, suitable for inductive and capacitive loads with PFs greater than 0.5. This ensures the capacity to carry more loads and reduces customer investments. Issue Draft B (2013-09-22) Huawei Proprietary and Confidential Copyright © Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. 3 UPS5000-A-(30 kVA–120 kVA) Product Description 2 Overview Easy Management The UPS5000-A supports web monitoring, offers Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) functionality, and provides communications ports such as the RS485 port to facilitate networking and reduce investment costs. 2.3 Features High Stability and Reliability The UPS5000-A is recommended for poor power grids because it supports a wide range of input voltages and frequencies. (The UPS works at full load when the line voltage is 305–485 V AC and is linearly derated to 40% when the line voltage is 138–305 V AC.) The UPS5000-A has 5 kA lightning protection, higher than the industry level 2 kA. The UPS5000-A has a high inverter overload capability. 105% < load ≤ 110%: transfer to bypass mode after 60 min 110% < load ≤ 125%: transfer to bypass mode after 10 min 125% < load ≤ 150%: transfer to bypass mode after 1 min High Efficiency and Energy Saving The input PF is 0.99, and the total distortion of the input current waveform (THDi) is less than 3%. This greatly reduces the pollution on power grids and the expense on cables and circuit breakers. The UPS5000-A has an efficiency of more than 99% in energy control operation (ECO) mode. The short transfer time ensures reliability. The UPS5000-A has a self-load test function. Startup and commissioning are easy, allowing the UPS5000-A to be put into operation quickly. Easy Maintenance The UPS5000-A provides a maintenance switch and supports power-unit-level maintenance to facilitate installation and maintenance. The UPS5000-A supports self-diagnosis and allows you to replace power units onsite, which improves maintenance efficiency. Flexible Battery Configuration The battery string can be shared depending on site requirements. You can configure thirty to forty 12 V batteries. Figure 3-1 and Figure 3-2 show typical applications. Functions The MDU displays the UPS running data and alarm information in real time and allows you to set parameters and control UPS running on the LCD. The backlight turns off if you do not press any button within 30s. Table 4-2 describes the buttons on the MDU. After login, if you do not press any button within 60s, you are logged out. 4.4 Functional Components The functional components include power input and output terminals, communication slots, dry contacts, and the monitoring bus that controls the addition of optional components and monitors UPSs. 4.4.1 UPS5000-A-30 kVA/40 kVA Functional Components Figure 4-4 and Figure 4-5 show the functional components on the front and at the rear of the UPS5000-A-30 kVA/40 kVA. Figure 5-5 Ambient temperature and humidity sensor Functions The ambient temperature and humidity sensor monitors the ambient temperature and humidity in the equipment room. Before you use the ambient temperature and humidity sensor, set the DIP switch on it, as shown in Figure 5-6. The DIP switch address ranges from 32 to 44. The DIP switch has six binary toggle switches. The bit on the leftmost is the most significant bit, and the bit on the rightmost is the least significant bit. Bit 1 indicates ON, and bit 0 indicates OFF. See Table 5-3. The difference is that the former has a DIP switch address range of 16 to 28. Therefore, you can use the sensor as an ambient temperature and humidity sensor or battery temperature sensor by setting the DIP switch address. 5.6 Short-Distance Battery Temperature Sensor Appearance Figure 5-7 shows a short-distance battery temperature sensor.
