Developed Countries vs Developing Countries Economy Economy is the system in which people make, exchange, and use things of value. A nation’s economy is what keeps it on its feet. It determines whether or not a nation’s people are educated, well-paid, fed, healthy, and living a good life. What Do You Think? What do you think it means to be a developing country? Developing Country Usually refers to countries with low levels of ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Developing countries do not have a level of industry that will support their populations and have a low standard of living. DEVELOPING COUNTRY Commercial Farming An area that produces enough food to help feed the masses. Farming for profit. DEVELOPED COUNTRY Rural Sometimes referred to as “the country” which are less populated areas that are found outside of a city and keep away from the influence of large cities.
