The Remote Condition Monitoring
programme aims to address significant
challenges in the monitoring and
management of railway infrastructure.
The challenges include flood warning, slope
instability, control of railway property access
and data analytics. New technologies will be
demonstrated by the Network
Rail/Southwest Trains Wessex Alliance.

There are currently 26 project teams
undertaking feasibility studies in nine
different challenge areas. From these, the
most promising solutions to each of the
challenges will be progressed to
demonstration.
