The toga was the

Rome it was worn by
all men
Stola
The stola is a toga but
made for women
Cloak
This was worn over
the toga but most often
replaced it in bad
weather
Palla
The blue garment this
lady is wearing is a
palla
The palla acts as a
cloak for women
Bulla
Before the age of
manhood, Roman
boys wore a bulla
containing protective
amulets
Tunic (Tunica)
The tunica is a shorter
version of the toga
sometimes acting as an
undergarment to it
Peplos
The peplos was one of
two types of tunics for
women
Chiton
The Chiton was the
second type of tunic
worn by women
Men’s Shoe
Calcei were worn
outside and always
with a toga
Women’s Shoe
More open than a men’s shoe the women’s shoe
looks more like the modern sandals (soleae,
sandalia)
