School Website
A Webmaster is designated by the principal and is accountable to the principal for content introduced
on the school Web site. It is the responsibility of the Webmaster to inform the principal of questions or
concerns regarding content to be posted on the Website. The content must have the approval of the
principal. The principal is to be informed when the Web pages are ready to be posted. Only the school
Webmaster is authorized to upload files to the server.
The school Website is a public document that supports the educational mission of the school.
It is developed as a means of introducing the school and its programs to school families, the parish
community and others seeking information about the school. The school Website serves as a marketing
tool as it describes the successes of the educational program. It can serve as a means of linking users to
specific resources about the school and its programs.

The Website is a means of communicating the school’s purpose as a Catholic school while articulating its
academic excellence both visually and in word.

 Pages should accommodate a variety of browsers, including text-only browsers. Be sure to
specify an <ALT> tag for graphics. Avoid making pages that require unusual plug-ins.

 Internal documentation should be contained in the source code. It should consist of the author's
name (teacher's name may be more appropriate if author is a student) with creation and
revision dates. Any unusual content or styles should be noted.
 Facilitate travel through the Web pages. Provide hypertext links wherever possible. Keep URLSs
as simple as possible.
