Ancient Egypt and Nubia Section 3: Egyptian Religion Egyptian Gods and Goddesses Early Egyptians worshipped different gods and goddesses according to where they lived. Later, all Egyptians worshiped the same main gods, such as the chief god, Amon-Re. Belief in an Afterlife Ancient Egyptians believed in life after death. During the Old Kingdom this afterlife was thought to be only for the upper classes. In the Middle Kingdom, all people felt they could attain it.
