Goal
The student will gain knowledge and experience in Clinical Dermatology, Mohs Surgery and
Dermatopathology.

Educational Objectives
Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to skin diseases
Proficiency in the basic laboratory skills pertinent to Dermatology
Understanding of basic skin biopsy technique
Proficiency in utilization of pathologic specimen interpretation to guide therapeutic approaches

Conferences:
All dermatology conferences including those directed specifically toward the dermatology residents

Feedback:
Verbal, or as needed during the rotation
Oral presentation:
The student will be expected to give a 20 minute oral presentation on a topic of his choice to the dermatology division
Research:
Not required, but case reports that come up during the time here will be encouraged

Evaluation
Faculty feedback will be the chief determinant of a grade, both on clinical performance, conference participation and end
of rotation presentation
Other
The course will be directed at MD students outside of ECU who are interested in a career in dermatology.
Students wishing to do the elective must upload the following supplemental information through VSAS:
