Write down the question, leave space to write the

When the class debriefs the answers, record the
answer in the space you left
Write very neatly and legibly, you will be able to use
this text on the weekly DOG Quiz.

• Be sure you write a title on this page - “Medieval World History”
Demonstrate what you know about world history with words or pictures
• Famous structures (pyramids, Parthenon, Great Wall of China)
• Persons (King Tut, Pericles, Ashoka, Australopithecus, Emperor Qin)
• Ideas (mapmaking, “the wheel,” domestication of plants and animals)
• Other items you associate with world history.
List or illustrate items you may have questions about or want to learn
more about
• ninjas, King Henry VII, how did the Maya built their pyramids?
• On the bottom of the title page put the 7th grade standard

They work together!
Good IAN Habits
• Write clearly
• Add color (colored pencils work best, they don’t bleed
through)
• Attach all extra pages neatly and as soon as possible
• Store it in the social studies section of your binder, this
saves wear and tear on the cover
• When you attach pages, fold the page horizontally about
three inches from the top so that you can read the title.
Tape it in so that you can fold the page out and still be
able to read both sides.
BIG IAN “No No’s”
• Never leave your IAN at home, you will need it every day
• Never tear out any pages from your IAN, that will mess up
the numbering
• Never use your IAN for other classes
• Do not lose your IAN, it will be very hard to replace all the
work you will do in it.
• Don’t use felt tip markers in it they will “bleed through” and
make it hard to read the other side
• Don’t paste papers in in such a way that you can’t read
what your wrote.
DOG Quizzes
• Dog Quizzes are 20% of your grade.
• If you are absent, get the DOG you missed from a
friend or consult the www.challengerms.org You
will be accountable for the DOG when you return,
and you must take the quiz.
• After the quiz has been graded and returned,
attach it to the page on which you recorded your
weekly DOG information. This way you will have
proof of your score and that you took the quiz.
