D-Day: Invasion of Normandy (European War)
June 6 1944: Allies launch an invasion in N. France
Led by Eisenhower & Monty, 150K allied troops land, thousands killed
Gen Omar Bradley begins air assault, Allies winning within a month
Nov 1944: FDR reelected for fourth term
