Your Amazing Muscular System
By Samantha and Niki
Your Wonderful Muscles
The Muscular System is a very important part of
the human body. Some muscles help by pumping
blood to the heart, some help you digest, and
others help you move. If you didn’t have muscles
your blood wouldn’t get pumped to the heart, you
couldn’t digest, and you couldn’t move.
Your Miraculous
Muscular System
Did you know that there are three
different types of muscles. Their
names are cardiac, smooth, and
skeletal. The cardiac and smooth
muscles are involuntary. Involuntary
muscles work without you thinking
about it. The skeletal muscles are
voluntary. Voluntary muscles let you
control them.
A Little Bit More About Your
Muscles
Most of your skeletal muscles are attached to bones. Your
muscles help you move by pulling on the bones and
making them move. Not all muscles are attached to your
bones. Some other types of muscles like cardiac and
smooth muscles aren’t hooked to bones. The cardiac
muscle helps by pumping blood to the heart from other
parts of the body. The smooth muscle helps by tightening
up and relaxing to let food pass through your small and
large intestine.
It’s Very Important to Keep
Your Muscles Healthy
Your muscles are very important, so you need to keep
them healthy. If you don’t your muscles would be very
weak and it would be hard for you to play sports and do
other activities. You should take good care of your
muscles because your muscles take good care of you.
Keeping your muscles healthy helps you stay healthy.
Healthy Muscles Make
Happy Muscles
One way to keep your muscles
healthy is to exercise daily. When you
exercise your muscles grow. Walking
around all day helps your muscles a
little bit, but doing extra exercise
really helps. Running, doing sit-ups,
push-ups, and other things like that
make your muscles very healthy.
