World History and Geography: 1500 A.D. (C.E.) to the Present [WHII] Course Overview This course is primarily taken by sophomores and designed to continue where World History to 1500 A.D. (C.E.) ended, although those students who opted for Modern Global Studies can easily transition to the curriculum. Students will explore the historical development of people, places, and patterns of life from 1500 A.D. (C.E.) to the present and prepare them for the End‐of‐Course SOL examination. Students will use a variety of primary sources, maps, political cartoons, graphic organizers, and technology skills to develop a chronological understanding of world events and develop a deeper understanding of the history behind the world as we know it today.
