Make-operation:
- The inrush current peaks are reduced by the resistor wires
- All contactors are provided with pre-contacts with snap function
- The pre-contacts are opening after the main contacts are closed
- The single controlled pre-contacts - as one block - are increasing the reliability against dust
in the field and during transportation
Operation:
- No power losses of the resistor wires during operation, because they are no longer in the circuit
Break:
- No movement of the pre-contacts during breaking operation, these capacitor contactors can be
used for all applications with high inrush currents

12,5kVAr (18A/400V)
A: 250A / Div. time:0,5ms / Div.
Advantages K2 & K3-series
 Contactor Range between 12,5 kVAr and 75 kVAr
 Usable for detuned and non-detuned capacitor banks
 Resistant against voltage raise caused by de-tuning
 No change of contactors in case of later installed detuning reactors
 Highest reliability in operation by using single controlled pre-contacts
 Reduced stress for capacitors
 Reduced power losses during operation
 Standardised design
 Compact design, small dimensions
 Standards: IEC/EN 60947 + VDE 0660
 UL-Approved (UL508)
Advantages range-K3
 Contactor Width up to 25/41 kvar 45mm only
 Larger terminals for larger cable cross-sections
 Box terminals for all contactors beginning at 20/28kVAr
 Up to 60 °C ambient temperature without derating (except 75/120kVAr)
 Covers for all moving parts of contactor
 Operation Indicator by auxiliary contact
 Side add-on auxiliary contact blocks (1NO+1NC)
 Integrated DIN-rail mounting

Safe Connection
Customer benefits at one glance
 Excellent damping of inrush current
 Improved power quality (e.g. avoiding voltage sags)
 Smooth switching of the capacitor and
therefore increased lifecycle of contactor and
capacitor
 Increased lifecycle of the capacitor bank!
 Reduction of assembly time
 Reduction of ohmic losses (Cable turns)
