USE of the PAST SIMPLE:

past.
Actions that happened one after the
other in the past (like in a story).
With the Past Continuous to refer to a
short action that interrupts a longer
one.
Examples:
• I didn't go to the beach last Sunday.
• I went into the disco and I saw my favourite girl, then I ...

Form of the Past Simple

• We add the suffix -ed in +
sentences.
• She played the violin very

• We use DID or DIDN'T in - or

well.

• When aswering: Yes, she did/
No, she didn't.
• In the past simple, ALL
SUBJECTS HAVE GOT THE
SAME VERB!!!
Regular & Irregular Verbs: Functions
There are regular and irregular verbs in the past simple.
Regular verbs are those ending in -ed and irregular verbs are
those that we have to study from this list.
